| Leo John Burg, 85, passed away June 10, 2002, at Community Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his wife and family. Leo was born April 28, 1917, in Lewistown, Mont. When he was 14, his family moved to Los Angeles, Calif. After graduating from L.A. City College in 1940, he went to work as a printer for Mainline Embossing Co. During World War II, he served in the Signal Corps, a branch of the Army Air Force. On Feb. 17, 1944, he married Trudy Koch. He served overseas in the China-Burma-India Theater as a sergeant. After the war, he returned to his job for a total of 42 years before retiring. In 1986, he and Trudy moved to Ventura. Leo Brug is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Trudy; three daughters, Janice Santos of Los Angeles, Michelle Brug of Ventura and Karen Brug of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren, Fieron, Devin, Regan and Karlynn Santos of Los Angeles. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Los Angeles. | ||
