Edward E. Schirf of 806 First avenue, for the past thirty-five years a locomotive fireman and engineer on the Pittsburgh division died at his residence at 11.15 o'clock yesterday morning following a six months' illness. He was born in the city Nov. 18, 1889, a son of Peter and Theresa (Stoltz) Schirf, and married Josephine Eckenrode Nov. 8, 1916. Surviving are the wife and the following children, Ensign Vincent E., of the naval base at Newport, R.I; Herbert and Esther of the city: Paul (Note: This is incorrect, there is no Paul), Pauline and Gertrude, at home, four grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Thomas of Anadarko, Okla.; Mrs. Anna Stroehmeyer of Niles, O.; Nickola (Note: Should be Nicholas)of Bellwood, Frank, Dennis and Mrs. Mary Shank of Altoona. One son preceded him in death. He was a member of Mount Carmel Catholic church and the B. of L.E. Friends are being received at the N.A. Stevens mortuary.
