Source of Obit is Ken SchirfObit 5-14-1934-- Peter Schirf of 2516 Third avenue, a retired employ of the Altoona Works, died at a local hospital at 1:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon of a complication of diseases after being ill for some time. He was born in Sharpsburg on Aug 16 1856, a son of Jacob and Gertrude (Heiler) Schirf, who resided for many years in Cambria County. His wife Mrs Theresa (Stolts) Schirf died on Jan 20 of this year. Surviving are five sons and two daughtersDenis A Schirf of the city, Thomas J Schirf of Anadarko Oklahoma, Frank A Schirf and Mrs Nicholas F Shank of the city, Nicholas Schirf of Antis township, Mrs E J Strohmeyer of Niles Ohio, and Edward E Schirf of the city. Two brothers and one sister, Giles Schirf of Latrobe, John of Nicktown, and Mrs Sabina Lulay of Oregon, also survive. Mr Schirf was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church. The body may be viewed at the home. The Funeral will be held Thursday morning with requiem mass at 9:00 O'clock in St Mary's Church. Interment will be made in St Mary's Cemetery.
